Service Projects
Service projects are an integral part of school life at HFS. All-school projects include a monthly bag lunch collection for distribution to a local community outreach program.; an active recycling effort for paper, cans and plastics; collections of food , clothing and, seasonally, money for UNICEF and toys; food and equipment for animals in local shelters and regular clean up of areas surrounding the school. Individual classes also sponsor various short- and long-term service projects, such as earning money to buy the food for a Thanksgiving meal for an A.I.D.S. Coalition family and making regular visits to a local retirement home.
