Job Description: Haddonfield Friends School is seeking a full-time Middle School Humanities teacher to begin September 1, 2019.  Responsibilities include teaching an integrated Literacy and Social Studies curriculum, focusing on Ancient and World Histories for 5th and 6th grade students.   The qualified teacher will have an understanding of and strong affinity for Quaker philosophy, and will work collaboratively with colleagues.

Qualifications of applicant: 3-5 years teaching experience in the Middle School classroom; Genuine understanding of adolescent development and respectful behavior management; In-depth knowledge of World and Ancient Histories and literacy skills as taught at this level; Rich repertoire of teaching strategies to address a variety of learning styles and needs; Strong communication skills; Strong technology skills and experience  with technology integration in the classroom; Commitment to continuous professional learning, including understanding and application of current research; Able to meet varied demands with integrity, enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and humor; Ability to “Teach to the Whole Child” including enthusiasm for project-based learning, field trip planning, service integration, and extra-curricular availability; Openness  to collaboration and planning with Middle School colleagues and faculty across grade levels

Job Description: Haddonfield Friends School is seeking to hire a full-time Associate Head of Academics, Curriculum and Student Engagement for the 2019-2020 school year.  The successful applicant will be responsible for partnering with faculty and school leadership to enhance the academic offerings, oversee and cultivate innovative curriculum, supervise student engagement and success, and encourage home/school/community communication and connections.. 

Responsibilities include: Overseeing curriculum development and innovation, including supporting teachers with the implementation of new, project-based learning initiatives and design-thinking curricula; Arranging professional development opportunities and in-service days; Managing and streamlining grade-to-grade transitions by promoting faculty communication and a spiraling, cohesive academic program; Supporting and observing classroom teachers, both with standing initiatives and individual teacher professional development and growth; Supporting classroom teachers with behavior interventions and differentiated instruction; Maintaining communication with families by being a visible presence in the daily life of the school; Supporting teachers in web portal content production and dissemination, and collaborating with PTO members and parent volunteers.  

Additional responsibilities include:  Partnering regularly with families and students to ensure a successful experience and best fit with our program; Guiding retention initiatives; Supporting admissions, marketing and community events.

Qualifications of applicant: Seasoned elementary or middle school educator with experience implementing both project-based learning and design-thinking programs; Masters degree preferred; Understanding of child and early adolescent development; Experience in curriculum design and development and teacher leadership; Must be a collaborative, hands-on, creative thinker with a sense of humor and a willingness to listen and lead; Should possess an interest in continuing personal professional growth in a highly cooperative, progressive educational  environment; Candidate should have an understanding of and strong affinity for Quaker philosophies, modeling the testimonies of service and stewardship.

Job Description: F/T and P/T Counselors needed for our growing Preschool and Youth Camps ((2 yrs. through 3rd grade) programs.  Camp runs from 6/17-8/16/2019.  Responsibilities include: participating in and supporting campers with activities, experiments, crafts; overseeing and engaging in free play; using creative problem solving techniques; supervising off-campus excursions; modeling and assisting campers with peaceful conflict resolution and encouraging mutual respect, and cooperation among campers, counselors, and staff. 

The qualities of a prospective counselor:

Job Description: Haddonfield Friends School is seeking a Director of Summer Camp (P/T December-June and F/T throughout 9 weeks of summer camp). Summer camp programs include Preschool Camp (ages 2-5 years), Youth Camp (grades 1-3), CIT Program (grades 5-8), various weeklong Middle School workshops (grades 4-8). 

Responsibilities for all facets of this position include supervision and management of adult teaching staff members, young adult counselors and middle, elementary, and early childhood aged  campers; assisting in hiring and daily supervision and oversight of camp counselors and staff; designing weekly themes, field trips, swim club days, activities, and group experiences for the various age levels and camp groups; marketing and advertising the HFS Summer Camp program at camp fairs and spring HFS open house dates.  

 The qualified person will have an understanding of and strong affinity for Quaker educational philosophy; a desire to work with children; experience in supervising staff and students; and an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and within the community.

Positions  Available:                         Supervisor of Extended Day/Extracurricular Clubs                Part Time

Job Description: Haddonfield Friends School is seeking a Supervisor of the Extended Day Program/Extracurricular Clubs (noon-6PM, M-F) from September-June, 

Extended Day supervisor position includes planning daily creative and recreational activities for Extended Day childcare; planning healthy snacks for participants; facilitating scheduling of staff; assist in hiring and daily supervision of Extended Day staff; overseeing all activities onsite; and maintaining safe supervision of the students in the program.  The Extended Day childcare program runs from dismissal through 6PM daily, and from 11:30- 6PM on any half days, and is available from 7:15-8:10 AM for early care to all HFS students. 

Extracurricular Clubs supervisor position includes organizing, scheduling, planning, and overseeing the various club offerings for the three 8-week club sessions (fall, winter, spring) during the school year, including planning the finding club moderators, advertising the club offerings to the students, setting the club schedule and locations for daily clubs throughout the week, and overseeing the logistics of students’ arrival and pick up from various clubs.
